There is no shortage of people advising you to stay away from the sun all the time — the sun is responsible for everything from dark skin to wrinkles, no doubt about it! But what we have forgotten in this cycle is that sunlight is the main life force of the earth. Since we are the inhabitants of this world, it is normal to have some of its positive effects in our daily life, isn’t it?

Remember, some of the hormones that are secreted from our body are affected by sunlight or bright light. And the rest is affected by darkness. Therefore, both light and darkness are necessary for the completion of physiological activities. For example, the hormone serotonin, which is secreted from our brain, is directly related to sunlight. Serotonin keeps you in a good mood as well as keeps you calm, so you can easily conclude anything. Melatonin is secreted in the dark of night — it helps to sleep. If you stay away from sunlight, then the risk of mood swings will increase gradually. Again, if it is not in the dark, the body will not get enough rest.

If your hands, feet, face, and neck are exposed to the sun for 5–15 minutes at least two to three times a week, you will be able to meet the required levels of vitamin D. Without vitamin D, bone health is not good. And if you don’t get sunlight, vitamin D will not be synthesized, remember that too.

Sunlight and open-air are great ways to reduce your stress. People who have been suffering from psoriasis and eczema for a long time also need to be exposed to the sun for at least a short time to stay healthy. However, keep in mind that there are some disadvantages to staying in the sun for too long, the damage caused to the skin by the effects of ultraviolet rays is also true.
